I started MCYM in 2017 after 25 years of working in management and brokerage with clients and their yachts from Florida to Maine. I found that as the boats get more sophisticated the owners required and benefited from more personalized attention as they maintained and upgraded their vessels.

In Maine we have a limited but spectacular sailing season.  Timely delivery, quality maintenance and thoughtful attention to the systems best suited for each owner is key to making the most of your time on the water.

I offer boat owners consulting and management based on a variety of experience:

 

  • I’ve worked as crew and captain of private motor yachts between the Bahamas and Maine. Most of my time was spent on a 57′ Trumpy which involved a considerable amount of maintenance and refit work. I then hired on with Rybovich Yacht Yard in West Palm Beach, Florida in their new build mechanical installations department.
  • In 1998 I outfitted my own boat and my wife and I cruised for two years before landing on Mount Desert Island where we decided to stay.
  • Not long after arriving in Maine I signed on with Morris Yachts for nine years and worked with Morris Yacht  owners as their Project Manager and later as Service Manager for the Bass Harbor location.
  • I then transitioned to Classic Boat Shop in Bernard as Service Manager and Yacht Broker for ten years.

 

Over the years I have seen that yacht owners could benefit from an independent dedicated manager to oversee the details of the maintenance, project work and timely commissioning schedules. Boats are getting more sophisticated and in my experience you don’t want to repeat the learning curve every year. Having a private manager that knows your boat, the history of your boat, the systems on your boat, as well as your desired outcome can elevate the results and the experience with your boat.
